November 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

Some people are very successful, without setting goals. So what are they missing? Satisfaction is what they are missing. Success that comes to you seemingly by accident is hard to appreciate, on the other hand success that you planned and worked for, is sweet indeed. Beyond the satisfaction of attaining goals, goal setting increases the odds of attaining your goal by giving you a road map and time frame to use. A goal is a dream with a date on it. If you are not writing your goals out every day, give it a shot and see how it feels. One Minute Motivator - Rewards Worth Winning are Forever

November 19th, 2007 · No Comments

The Adidas ad that states “sweat, pain and exhaustion are temporary, but winning the Boston Marathon is forever” can be an inspiration to us all. None of us are immune to the pain associated with the effort it takes to get ahead, but winners are able to view it as temporary, and know that the reward they are seeking will be forever. Your competition feels the same pain as you do, but if you press on, you can outlast them and take the prize. Another sneaker ad said “there is no traffic jam on the extra mile”, saying that once you get close to your goal, your competition will drop out. November 13th, 2007 · No Comments

Listen to what you say you are going to do and then watch what you actually do. Are you walking the walk, the same as you talk the talk. If not, take steps to do what you say you will do. Your self-esteem will go up and you will be motivated to do more, in addition to drawing other people to you because of your integrity. You need to make your behavior reflect your values. You will have inner and outer conflicts, if your beliefs, values, goals and most importantly, actions aren’t in agreement. Look at what you say and do, versus what you believe. Put all the pieces together and go forward as a team.

One Minute Motivator - Finishing Feels Good

November 10th, 2007 · No Comments

If you want to really feel good, finish one of your projects. Quitting feels good, but finishing feels better. Sometimes we think of how good it would feel to give up on something we are doing. When that happens, take a moment and think of how good it would feel to finish the job, and savor that glow of accomplishment. Many times you will see it will feel better to accomplish something, then is does to quit. If you want more joy in your day, then find a challenge and overcome it. Boredom sets in when you aren’t challenged. You need to be stretched, to feel pride in what you are doing and who you are. Pick something a little harder than what you have been doing, work on it till you overcome it and see how you feel.

In your own life, in your own way, are you creating happiness or are you creating suffering?

Choose your values carefully.
